August 2, 1944 (Wednesday)
Had a big party in the mess tonight. Had an op scheduled for after dinner but it was scrubbed because of weather – so the “joy was unrefined”.
Got two blueforms from Mom and a letter from Barb (written July 22) with some snaps in it of the wedding and of herself. Very nice pictures too!
Had a very poor time at the party as usual – good food though and I stuffed myself. Saw Timms and he’s a flight commander at Waterbeach with about twenty trips in. We had a bit of a talk.
