February 3, 1944 (Thursday)
Nearly late this a.m. Had quite a runaround by the PT fellows, also a lecture – which was rather a poor score – some of the fellows were mad as hell at a Sergeant telling us off! They won’t take much of that kind of stuff.
Didn’t do anything all day – it was quite windy (40-50 mph). Got two parcels at noon, a blueform from both the folks, and a Star Weekly and bank statement. Got thirty-nine pounds in the bank now.
Giff, Mac, and Red when they came back from the funeral today told me that my flight officer was through which gives me about one hundred pounds back pay by the end of February.
Wrote an airgraph and a letter for the folks tonight and now to bed. Everyone is fussing about after my comics – it’s going to keep me busy reading now.
I got an hour’s GEE and an hour’s AMBT in this morning.
