January 7, 1944 (Friday)

Got two parcels at noon – Aunt Mabel’s Christmas parcel and one from the GCVI. Then at night I got a Christmas card and a letter from Barb, a letter from Mom, an airgraph from Sis, and a Christmas card from Maurine.

Murray is getting engaged to Peggy on Christmas Eve apparently. What a wonderful thought!

Jeff Venables and I were witnessing officers at a pay parade this afternoon. Men and WAAF’s.

I also went back to see if my watch was ready – it will be done again tomorrow morning. I wrote half a dozen letters tonight – all my English mail caught up and a few of my Canadian letters written.
