DIARY NOTES

Location
12 Operational Training Unit Chipping-Warden, near Banbury, northwest of London

Crew drills - Procedures to safely evacuate the plane as a team in the event of an emergency

Kirsch - Canadian pilot and friend, who trained with Johnston, and was later posted to 90 Squadron at Tuddenham

January 10, 1944 (Monday)

Had crew drills all day – I’m beginning to realize how much I don’t know! Have to get cracking all right. Got my goggles this morning. No mail today darn it!

Kirsch and I came back to the barracks and had supper here. Another rough conglomeration. Haven’t done anything tonight, which is rather poor.
