DIARY NOTES

Location
RAF Bomber Command, 115 Squadron at Witchford, near Ely

Stand down - Operations are not scheduled, or have been cancelled

Dean - Johnston’s brother, stationed near Cambridge, north of London
July 8, 1944 (Saturday)

Got up about noon and found it to be a stand-down so went up and got pictures of crew which turned out swell incidentally, and then went out to the aircraft, which is also in fine shape.

The boys out there couldn’t get me a picture from the Daily Herald so I guess I’ve had it (the one of the King and Queen and Princess and aircrew - which included me).

Dean arrived about three p.m. with my radio and it works swell. The only problem is that we can’t get the American forces programme on it – which is nearly always the best! However, he’s going to take it back while I’m on leave and try to fix it so we can get the station.
