September 7, 1944 (Thursday)

Rained all day today – but we rode back and forth in Smith’s van so it didn’t bother us.

Had a terrific argument with the boys in the afternoon on how to fly “daylights” over the Third Reich. Battle Order came out about 4 p.m., so we came up to the mess.

Rowe-Evans was back – he’s finished FIS (on Oxfords) and is waiting on a posting. Have to get up for breakfast at 3 a.m. tomorrow morning – and so to bed.
